Discover the Wines of Italy
Tutor: David Rough from Hertfordshire Wine School
Italy is currently the World’s largest producer of wine and is also the country with the greatest variety of grapes and wine styles. This tasting will explore Italian wine-growing regions from North to South and include, along the way, some of the most famous names including Prosecco, Barolo, Amarone, Chianti and Gavi. We will try wine from a wonderful selection of grapes, such as Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Barbera, Corvina and Primitivo, many of which are found only in Italy.
In this workshop we will taste at least seven wines from Italy, and learn about grapes, wine making and wine styles. No previous wine tasting experience is necessary and all wine, tasting glasses, mats, notes and other materials are provided.
