The Wines of Australia and New Zealand
Tutor: David Rough from Hertfordshire Wine School
Australia is home to a variety of very different wine-making regions. From the hot Barossa Valley which produces rich, chocolatey and peppery Shiraz, to the cooler Margaret River in Western Australia which produces elegant Cabernets and Sauvignon Blancs, and plenty in between. Slightly further south, New Zealand has raised the benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir and now, in the eyes of many, produces wines that rival that of the French.
Join us on this wine tour of Australasia, when we will taste at least seven wines from around the region, and learn about the dramatic changes that have taken place in the industry. No previous wine tasting experience is necessary and all wine, tasting glasses, mats, notes and other materials are provided.
